The Bible is full of wisdom that we can apply to our lives today. Although it was written thousands of years ago, its truths are just as relevant today as they were then. In fact, many of the principles the Bible teaches are essential for success in any area of life. However, since I’m a business coach I’m going to focus on success in business.
In this blog post, we’ll be taking a look at three of those principles: consistency, diligence, and discipline. We’ll see how these principles can be applied to our lives and why they are so important for achieving success. So let’s get started!
Secret #1: Consistency
The first key to success is consistency. Consistency is key for achieving success in any area of life, especially business. This means being steady and unwavering even when it’s difficult. It means being dependable. It means being unchanging day after day.
Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). We need to model after Christ and remain unchanged. For example if you own a bakery, do your cookies taste the same every time? You have to provide the same experience to your customers time after time. You need repeatable processes in your businesses. Finetune your services or products so you can provide a consistent experience and watch success unfold.
Secret #2: Diligence
Another important biblical principle for achieving success is diligence. This means putting in the effort and being persistent. It means not half-heartedly going through the motions but instead putting your whole heart into everything you do. When we are diligent in our work, it demonstrates our respect for God and His gifts to us.
Diligence is not always fun, but it is essential to achieving success in your business. If we want to achieve something great, we have to be willing to put in the work required to get there. Afterall, faith without works is dead. Just like faith requires action so does diligence.
The Bible tells us that we will reap in due season if we don’t give up (Galatians 6:9). I find that so many give up too soon- right before their breakthrough. Note the scripture says you’ll reap in due season. That means time is going to pass after you launch your business before it really takes off. However, keep being diligent and tending to your business until your due season arrives. Diligent hands will make you rich (Proverbs 10:4).
Secret #3: Self-Discipline
The third secret to success from the Bible is discipline. This means staying focused on your goals and not getting sidetracked by distractions (1 Corinthians 9:24-27). This involves creating good habits and sticking to them even when you don’t feel like it. It means making a commitment and following through on it no matter what. It means saying no to things that don’t align with your values and priorities. It means making wise choices instead of impulsive ones (Proverbs 14:12).
Disciplining yourself can be difficult, but it’s worth it because it allows you to live a life that is honoring to God. It will also bring you success. There are so many people that will never launch their businesses or stick around for it to be successful because they simply don’t have the discipline to sit still. Don’t be undisciplined. Buckle down and put in the work to be successful.
These three secrets from the Bible – consistency, diligence, and discipline – are essential for anyone who wants to achieve success in their business. Although they may not be easy to implement at first, they will pay off in the long run if you stick with them. When we are faithful even when it’s difficult, when we put in the effort and take care of the details, and when we stay focused on our goals without getting sidetracked by distractions, we are living a life that is honoring to God. And that is what true success is all about. So make a commitment today to start living out these principles in your own business!
